Summary (AI)
Patch 1.2.4 for Europa Universalis V fixes an issue where armies with zero morale could be overrun too easily by smaller forces, adjusting the calculation to require a true 10x size advantage. Truce durations now scale correctly with the warscore used to end wars, and white peace no longer applies an incorrect 20-year truce. The AI's army management has been improved to favor fewer, larger stacks and to better evaluate military strength by including mercenaries and morale modifiers. Trade Orders no longer reset Market Automation after loading a save, and cores gained or lost via events or scripts now persist for 100 years before expiring under certain conditions. The update also addresses some performance issues related to FPS drops.

- Truces now correctly scale with the warscore used to end the war, rather than the final warscore the war ends with. White peace no longer incorrectly applies a 20-year truce. Same-religion and cross-religion no-CB war costs are also now properly differentiated.
- Hello Everyone, and Welcome to another Happy Wednesday. This is the place where we talk about Europa Universalis V.Today we released 1.2.4 which amongst other things did this.
- What are we working on regarding 1.3 Pavia then?Well, it is expected to go into open beta later this month, and if you would like a reminder on the plans for it, you can check them at:
- In 1.3, Credit will have it's own tab
- A first look at creditworthiness in action. Work in progress
- Changed truces to properly scale with the war score used to end the war, instead of the war score the war ended with.
- Changed cores gained from script (events, etc.) or lost to other countries to remain for a period of 100 years, after which they disappear if the dominant culture of the location is not the same as the culture of the core's country.
- Set the country rank of Patras to Duchy.
- Prevented castrated/eunuch rulers from triggering dynastic heir events that give bastard sons.
- Improved the text of "The Non-Possessor Movement" event (orthodox_flavor.1).
- Tweaked the formation of Rome as Byzantium so it also integrates the "Marittima" province (Rome, Terracina, Velletri) upon formation, avoiding some issues caused by moving the capital to the Rome location.
- Changed forming Byzantium or the Roman Empire to unlock the "Restore Roman Borders" casus belli, gated on the Fate of the Phoenix DLC.
- Made Hellenism religious aspect pairs that share a defining modifier (canonization, omen_strength, omens_offered) mutually exclusive, so the player cannot fill both slots with the same effect.
- Set Latin culture to start with kindred opinion of Greek, and vice versa.
- Changed the Castrate and Blind interactions to exclude a character from being eligible as a pretender in a Succession Crisis; the two actions can also no longer be used against Heads of Cabinet.
- Changed the "Restore Roman Borders" casus belli to also consider subject neighbors as potential targets.
- Changed the task "Found a Town" under "Infrastructure Efforts" to take into account the Megalopolis rank.
- Changed the "Offered Omens" tile in the religion panel to show the country's actual cap on simultaneously offered omens (e.g. +3 as Hellenism) instead of the total number of omens defined across the religion's gods (e.g. 0/60).
- Differentiated same-religion no-CB war cost from cross-religion.
- Capped 100% peace deal truce at 15 years.
- Changed separatist rebels to rise up with 0 war exhaustion.
